Rangers Closing In On Deal For £5.2m Marksman

An update has emerged on Glasgow Rangers and their pursuit of a deal to further bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2023/24 campaign…

What's the latest Rangers transfer news?

According to The Athletic's Jordan Campbell, the Light Blues are "edging closer" to an agreement with Feyenoord to sign Brazilian centre-forward Danilo during the transfer window.

The reporter has stated that the Gers have upped their offer from €3.5m (£3m) to €6m (£5.2m) including realistic add-ons as Michael Beale closes in on his eighth signing of the summer.

Sam Lammers, Leon Balogun, Cyriel Dessers, Abdallah Sima, Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland have all joined the club to date.

Campbell claims that the two clubs are not far apart in their valuations and that there is a belief on both sides of the deal that this transfer will go through eventually.

How many goals did Danilo score last season?

The 24-year-old marksman scored an eye-catching ten Eredivisie goals in 14 starts for Feyenoord throughout the 2022/23 campaign and has the potential to be an excellent partner for Dessers.

Campbell has claimed that the possible signing would be used as a "hybrid" forward alongside the former Cremonese number nine in attack next season for the Light Blues.

This suggests that Danilo could play in a role that would allow him to join Dessers in a front two to spearhead the attack whilst also being given the freedom to drop deeper and move out wide in order to link up play with the midfield and wingers, which would allow the Nigerian international to remain through the middle as the focal point for Beale.

Former Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers.

The ex-Brazil U23 international has been a prolific scorer throughout his youth and senior career to date and could form a lethal partnership with the 28-year-old dynamo.

Danilo's impressive Eredivisie return last term came after he managed 15 goals in 26 matches for Ajax's first-team and reserves combined, which included six goals in three cup games. He also caught the eye during the 2020/21 campaign on loan at FC Twente with 17 strikes in 33 league outings.

The £5.2m-rated ace, who scored 31 goals in 51 U21 clashes for Ajax, has proven himself to be a reliable scorer, which could strike fear into opposition defenders if they see him lining up alongside Dessers, whose form for Feyenoord – prior to Danilo's move there – suggests that he can also be a monster in front of goal.

Throughout the 2021/22 season, the Nigerian goal machine plundered an outstanding 19 goals in 16 starts across the Europa Conference League and Eredivisie, which included nine goals in nine Dutch top-flight starts.

No Rangers striker found the back of the net more than 14 times in the Scottish Premiership for Beale last term. Both Dessers, who scored 22 goals and provided 13 assists in 36 games for NAC Breda in 2016/17, and Danilo have the potential to score 15 or more league goals in a season.

Therefore, the possible strike partnership for the Light Blues could be one that causes panic among opposition defences over the coming months as centre-backs could have two prolific and consistent number nines to deal with throughout matches, which could cause havoc in the box.

Leeds: Phil Hay worried about striker situation

With Leeds United about to embark on their first season in the Championship for four years, journalist Phil Hay is worried about where the goals will come from and who can be Daniel Farke's Teemu Pukki in white.

Leeds United transfer news

Before the dust had even settled on the Peacocks' relegation from the Premier League last season, players started looking for a way out of the club, and after Sam Allardyce was shown the door, it didn't take long for some of the first team to follow him.

So far, the club have sent four players out on loan, including recent signings Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, and Marc Roca. That number could soon be five as Maximilian Wober looks likely to join Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in the coming days.

That said, the club still, at this point anyway, possess a decent lineup of attacking wide players, such as William Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra, Crysencio Summerville, and Jack Harrison.

patrick-bamford-leeds-united-academy-mateo-joseph-allardyce

However, whilst those players are certainly good enough for the Championship, the options at striker of Patrick Bamford and Gerorginio Rutter could be a problem and don't fill Phil Hay with a great deal of confidence going into the new season.

He explained his feelings on the situation on The Square Ball YouTube channel:

"I do still find myself asking, 'Who is going to be his Teemu Pukki in this team? Who is going to score 20-plus goals? I'm not looking at either Rutter through the middle or Patrick Bamford through the middle and thinking you've got a dead cert there for 20-plus in the season to come.

"I would also say, and I think you're right here, that while they're well served out wide with options, and they definitely are. I'm not sure that there is somebody who is perfectly suited to that central creative role."

Who have Leeds United been linked to?

With the striking situation looking a little worrying, have the club been linked to anyone that could come in and help move the club forward this season?

Well, the good news is that, according to WalesOnline, Leeds have made contact with fellow Championship side Swansea City over their free-scoring Dutch centre-forward Joel Piroe.

The Welsh publication has revealed that the player has refused to sign a new contract with the Swans and that because of this, his valuation could be lower than the £20m it was last summer.

While the 23-year-old isn't currently the Whites 'primary focus', he would be an excellent purchase due to his proficiency in the second tier over the last two seasons.

joel-piroe-swansea-city-leeds-united-transfer-gossip-farke-rodrigo-qatar

In his first year in English football, the 6 foot 1 dynamo scored 22 goals and provided six assists in just 40 starts. He followed that up by scoring 19 goals and providing two assists last season in just 43 starts.

So far, the Dutchman has 49 goal involvements in his 7293 minutes of Championship football for the Welsh club, meaning he has produced a goal involvement every 148 minutes, or once every one and a half games or so.

While it might not quite be as prolific as Pukki was for Norwich City in the 2020/21 and 2018/19 seasons, it's still massively impressive and would give the rest of the team an excellent base upon which to build.

If Leeds can get this deal done, it could go a long way in easing Hay's concerns.

Man United: CBS reporter drops crushing Amrabat transfer update

Manchester United have "discussed" signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, however the move is nowhere near as advanced as reports have suggested, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Is Sofyan Amrabat joining Man United?

There have been reports that Amrabat has packed his bags ahead of a move to Old Trafford, as he believes Man United and Fiorentina are close to reaching an agreement, after an offer of £21.5m was made for his services last week.

That bid was just shy of the Italian club's asking price, which is believed to be £26m, however the midfielder is confident a deal will be struck in the coming days, so he has started to prepare for a move to Manchester.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently confirmed that "conversations" have been held with the Moroccan's camp, with the player himself "open" to a move to Old Trafford, but he does not believe it is close to being a done deal.

That viewpoint is shared by Jacobs, who recently told GiveMeSport that while United have expressed an interest in the 26-year-old, the move is nowhere near as close as has been suggested by the media.

The journalist said: “So, it is true that a defensive midfielder is a possibility in terms of the position that Manchester United may look to strengthen next, should they get Rasmus Hojlund over the line and Sofyan Amrabat is on the list.

“But I’m still not aware, despite the reports, of any bid or anything imminent on the Amrabat front. So, it’s fair to say that the player is there and has been discussed by Manchester United, but I don’t actually think that it’s as far along or as focused as perhaps being reported by others.”

How good is Sofyan Amrabat?

The Red Devils were keen on signing the Morocco international during the January transfer window, having been impressed by his performances for the Atlas Lions at the World Cup, however they instead opted to sign Marcel Sabitzer.

Journalist Charlie Parker-Turner was also wowed by the central midfielder's performances out in Qatar, saying: "Sofyan Amrabat is in the conversation for Player of the Tournament. Unbelievable warrior of a midfielder."

Not only has the maestro impressed at international level, he has also put in some top-quality performances for Fiorentina, averaging a pass success rate of 89.2% in the Serie A last season, the second-highest of any midfielder to play over 1500 minutes.

sofyan-amrabat-fiorentina-tottenham-hotspur-transfer-gossip-mousa-dembele-postecoglou

However, there may be some justified concerns about the lack of attacking threat posed by the Fiorentina ace, who has failed to score a non-penalty goal in the past year, while his defensive attributes can also be called into question.

The World Cup star ranks in just the 32nd percentile for tackles, and the 42nd percentile for interceptions per 90 over the past year, indicating he may not be as solid a defensive midfielder as Man United fans were hoping for.

Of course, Amrabat has proven he is capable of performing at the top level, with journalist Greg Lea describing him as the "heartbeat" of the Morocco side that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, but there are question marks over whether he is good enough for the Red Devils.

Arsenal Set To Finalise Move For "Incredible" £30m Star

Arsenal have now agreed a deal to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, with the move set to be finalised after Matt Turner completes his switch to Nottingham Forest, according to a recent report from Football Transfers.

What's the latest Arsenal transfer news?

Nottingham Forest have now reached an agreement to sign Turner, with the American set to undergo a medical later today before completing his move to the City Ground, meaning Arteta is now tasked with bringing in a new back-up goalkeeper.

Raya has, perhaps surprisingly, emerged as Mikel Arteta's main target to replace Turner, with journalist Ben Jacobs recently telling GiveMeSport the Spaniard would be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium:

“Arsenal have the same perspective as Bayern and Spurs, that the £40m asking price that has been put out there publicly by Thomas Frank is too high.

“So, the situation at the moment is that they have player buy-in. They know that personal terms are not a problem.

Now, however, it appears as though the Gunners have managed to come to an agreement for well below Brentford's initial asking price, with Football Transfers reporting they are set to sign the 27-year-old for a fee of around £25m – £30m.

All terms of the deal have now been agreed, with the signing set to be finalised and announced as soon as Turner's move to Nottingham Forest is confirmed, with personal terms not an issue.

Arteta is believed to be a big fan of the Brentford shot-stopper, particularly because of his ability with the ball at his feet, and his distribution, and he could provide Aaron Ramsdale with real competition next season.

The former Blackburn Rovers man has been desperate to leave Brentford this summer, and a move to the Emirates Stadium is now set to be completed.

How good is David Raya?

There is every indication that the Spain international could become Arsenal's new number one, as he has performed better than Ramsdale across a number of key metrics over the course of the past year.

The 6 foot 1 goalkeeper ranks in the 92nd percentile for his save percentage per 90, when compared to his positional peers, and he displays a willingness to get involved in the play, placing in the 94th percentile for the amount of touches he has made.

Ramsdale, on the other hand, ranks in just the 36th percentile for his save percentage, and the 12th percentile for number of touches per 90, indicating his position as first-choice goalkeeper could be under significant threat.

david-raya-brentford-arsenal-transfer-gossip-edu-arteta-oleksandr-zinchenko

Signing Raya does appear to be a strange move, considering Arteta has lauded his current number one as "exceptional", as a result of the progress he has made over the past two seasons, but it could be a wise move to bring in competition.

The Englishman could be forced to up his game even further to prevent the "incredible" goalkeeper from taking his place in the side, however Arteta does run the risk of creating discontent if either goalkeeper is left out of the team for large periods.

Everton Could Repeat Barry Horne Success With "Dynamic" £22m Gem

Everton managed to narrowly retain their infamous top-flight status last season and could be set to add sufficiently to once again avoid the dreaded drop…

Is Kamaldeen Sulemana joining Everton?

Especially given they have already made solid moves in the market already, welcoming Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma to bolster key areas, with Youssef Chermiti set to occupy the much-needed striker role too.

In returning for Villarreal's Dutch wide man, Toffees boss Sean Dyche showcased an ability to forget the past in order to capture those he has had a longstanding interest in.

Read the latest Everton transfer news HERE…

That would therefore explain their reported interest in Southampton's Kamaldeen Sulemana, who opted to move to St Mary's over Goodison Park in January.

Having since been relegated, Football Insider are now suggesting that the Merseyside outfit are once again in talks for his services, seeking to negotiate with the club that paid €25m (£22m) to tempt him last window,

How good is Kamaldeen Sulemana?

Whilst he could not offer enough across those six months to fire the Saints to safety, the 21-year-old livewire did provide a glimpse into the exceptional talents he can bring to English football.

After all, in his last full campaign in France, he posted eight goal contributions across all competitions, before scoring just twice across ten Premier League starts last season.

However, what the skilful winger did bring was far more than just his tangible goalscoring and assisting, as there are few on the continent as consistent when it comes to bypassing defenders with pace and trickery.

When compared to other wide men across Europe, he actually ranks in the top 1% for successful take-ons per 90, as well as the top 18% for interceptions per 90, via FBref.

He pairs electric running with a relentless work rate, as former coach Didi Dramani outlined him as someone capable of earning success in England:

"His strength is coming inside as a wide player. He is very dynamic in his movement, very unpredictable where he wants to go with either foot. When he is in space, he is basically unstoppable in one-on-one situations."

barry-horne

To once again look to Southampton whilst in the midst of a troublesome period for the club, having flirted with the drop for two seasons on the run now, perhaps such an acquisition could be reminiscent of their 1992 signing of Barry Horne.

The Welshman joined having endured a fairly uneventful career, and although his spell on Merseyside was hardly prolific, he did enjoy one particularly important moment that lives long in the memories of fans.

Welcoming AFC Wimbledon on the final day of the 1993/94 season, the Toffees knew that only a win would be enough to preserve their top-flight status.

So, when they found themselves 2-0 down, they likely feared the worst.

Graham Stuart halved the deficit from the spot, but as time ticked on they needed to pull a double from somewhere. Up stepped Horne, who thundered home from 30 yards to bring the scores level, setting up a grandstand finish. Stuart's second would seal the 3-2 win, as they were destined to feature in the Premier League once again.

He would even go on to win the club's 1995 Footballer of the Year award too, helping them win the FA Cup; their latest piece of silverware.

Should Sulemana prove half as heroic as the now 61-year-old Goodison legend, this would be a deal more than worth making, as the famous outfit seek to attain survival until they can make the triumphant move into the new stadium.

Wolves Open Talks With £17m Brute

Wolverhampton Wanderers haven’t exactly had the best preparation before starting their 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

The Old Gold have made just two signings this summer, with Matt Doherty and Tom King arriving at Molineux while Julen Lopetegui has left the club after just nine months in charge amid a summer of unrest.

Gary O’Neil is the new man in charge, and he is already looking at making his first signing as Wolves have shown interest in Murillo.

Could Wolves sign Murillo?

According to Goal Brasil (via Sport Witness), Wolves have ‘opened talks’ to sign the Brazilian defender from Corinthians this summer.

The Old Gold are willing to spend around €12m (£10m) in order to make a move happen, yet this won’t be enough, especially considering Fiorentina had a bid of a similar amount rejected recently.

Nottingham Forest are also showing interest in Murillio and O’Neil could face some Premier League competition for the youngster.

Corinthians are demanding a bid of at least €20m (£17m) for any team to lure the player out of Brazil and this shouldn’t present much of a problem for Wolves, who have yet to spend any of the £47m they received from the sale of Ruben Neves.

Who is Murillo?

O’Neil’s first port of call will be to improve his defensive options. Not only did Conor Coady leave the club, joining Leicester City in the Championship, but Nathan Collins also departed, securing a move to Brentford and the former Bournemouth manager is lacking any real depth at the back.

Murillo could add some much-needed depth to the first team squad, while also being a big upgrade on Toti Gomes.

The Portuguese centre-back couldn’t quite grab a regular slot at the heart of the defence last term, yet when he did, the 24-year-old failed to live up to his potential.

Murillo

The defender ranked 14th across the squad for tackles per game (0.9) while also ranking ninth for interceptions (0.6) and fourth for clearances (2.6) per game and keeping just four clean sheets in his 17 Premier League appearances.

For Corinthians this season, Murillo has already averaged 1.3 interceptions, 1.1 tackles and 4.8 clearances per game across just 12 matches and these figures rank him 12th, fourth and second in the squad receptively, clearly suggesting he could be an improvement on Toti.

The 21-year-old brute even ranks in the top 1% when compared to positional peers for blocks per 90 (2.13) and the top 8% for clearances per 90 (5.52) and the youngster has even displayed his attacking qualities, ranking in the top 3% for successful take-ons per 90 (0.75).

In contrast, Toti only ranked in the top 20% for blocks per 90 (1.46) when compared to positional peers across Europe’s big five leagues while ranking out with the top 35% for successful take-ons per 90 (0.82) and although he did finish in the top 1% for clearances per 90 (4.66), it’s evident that the Brazilian could be a better option at the back for O’Neil.

There is no doubt Wolves need to bolster their squad before the end of the transfer window and luring Murillo to the Midlands could give O’Neil his dream first signing, and he may just be the catalyst for a few more to arrive in the coming weeks.

Everton Submit Bid For "Fantastic" £12m Dynamo To Help McNeil

Everton may well have found their new talisman as Sean Dyche looks to finalise his summer transfer activity, with one journalist stating the club are homing in on a former Premier League star.

What's the latest on Che Adams to Everton?

Indeed, according to The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell, Southampton striker Che Adams is close to a move to Everton after the club submitted a £12m offer for the 27-year-old striker, bypassing interest from AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.

Read the latest Everton transfer news HERE…

The Scotland international suffered relegation from the top-flight with Saints this year, but the figure of just £12m could lead it to be quite an astute purchase.

The Toffees have already signed Arnaut Danuma and Jack Harrison on loan, whilst also completing the £15m signing of teenage striker Youssef Chermiti.

How good is Che Adams?

When the rejoicing simmered down following Everton's 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on the final day of the 2022/23 season, Dyche will have hoped to swiftly make the requisite moves to effectively bolster the frontline.

Everton concluded the previous term as the division's second-lowest goalscorers, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin spending large portions of the season out injured and Neal Maupay, who joined from Brighton & Hove Albion for £15m last summer, yielding just one goal for the Goodison Park side.

While Adams is not a marquee name, he is a solid and dependable striker and, at £12m, could very well be a shrewd signing for a team looking to restore their attacking impetus, once praised as "fantastic" by former manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Having scored 33 goals and supplied 15 assists from 148 outings for Southampton, Adams is definitely not the most prolific of forwards but he is a "clever" attacking outlet – as called by pundit Ally McCoist – and could improve the increased dynamism that stems from acquisitions of Harrison and Danjuma.

Che Adams

Despite Saints' woes last season, Adams plundered five goals and three assists from just 23 league starts, taking 1.7 shots and creating 0.9 key passes per game, very much the "focal point" – according to former Southampton midfielder Jo Tessem – that Everton need.

For a striker, 0.9 key passes is not half bad, with Calvert-Lewin averaging 0.5 and Maupay averaging 0.3, for example.

By introducing such a selfless, multi-faceted talisman, the goalscoring fortunes of Harrison and Danjuma would improve, but perhaps more integrally, it could be a sure-fire way of ensuring Dwight McNeil continues his Midas touch in front of goal.

Signing from Burnley for £20m in 2021 upon the Clarets' relegation from the Premier League, McNeil started slowly but finished the term with seven goals and three assists – Everton's top scorer in the division, somewhat alarmingly.

The £25k-per-week winger also created 11 big chances and averaged 1.4 key passes per outing, and his varied approach could set him up to blend seamlessly with Adams, who could offer something different to the Toffees attack.

Hailed as "magnificent" by scout Ryan Williams for his purple patch at the end of the previous campaign, scoring five goals and supplying one assist across the final 12 league matches, McNeil shone despite the discord plaguing the Everton attack.

But with the 27-year-old Saints striker entering the fold, Dyche could be making a move that, while it might go under the radar, would bolster the squad and increase the fluidity and harmony on Merseyside, pushing the club one step further toward security away from the pit of the Premier League table.

Rangers Set To Miss Out On "Huge Player" To Celtic

After missing out on the Scottish Premiership in a campaign to forget last season, Rangers now have the hard task of preventing Celtic from making it three consecutive title wins.

The man in charge of standing in the way of Brendan Rodgers' new side is Michael Beale, who will be hoping to use the remaining days of the transfer window to gain an edge over his Old Firm rivals.

As things stand, however, reports suggest that Celtic have already taken the lead off the pitch, potentially beating Rangers to their transfer target.

What's the latest Rangers transfer news?

So far this summer, Rangers have welcomed a total of eight reinforcements, with Feyenoord's Danilo and Atalanta's Sam Lammers the pick of the bunch, alongside Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell.

With seven days still remaining in the summer transfer window, however, Rangers may yet hope to welcome even more fresh faces. It's clear so far that Beale's side could do with all the help that they can get if they are to dethrone Celtic this season.

After two games in the Scottish Premiership, Rangers have lost one and sealed all three points in the other, with their opening day defeat against Kilmarnock a particular shock.

Of course, the Gers have since defeated Livingston with ease to get back on track on the pitch, but off the pitch, things aren't going quite so well.

According to The Daily Mail, Rangers' rivals Celtic have launched a £3.5m bid to sign Gers target Luis Palma. Rangers reportedly viewed the winger as a replacement for Ryan Kent, who left the club earlier in the window, but now look likely to miss out following Celtic's reported bid.

No matter which club takes pole position in Scotland, however, they will still have to reportedly battle it out for Palma's signature against Watford and Anderlecht this summer.

Is Luis Palma any good?

luis-palma-aris-premier-league-leeds-transfer-news

Currently plying his trade for Greek Super League side Aris, Palma was involved in an impressive 21 goals last season, scoring 13 and assisting a further eight in all competitions.

Meanwhile, so far this season, the 23-year-old has already found the back of the net twice and made three assists in five appearances. From Beale and Rangers' perspective, they could be missing out on a player in form who looks likely to only get better. Worse is the fact that it is Celtic who could secure Palma's signature, too.

At his best, the Honduran has earned plenty of praise, including from Aris manager Apostolos Terzis, who said, via Daily Record, after Palma scored twice in his side's 4-2 victory in the Europa Conference League: "Luis has done that all season. He has been a huge player for us. We know there has been a lot of interest in him and it's not surprising. Hopefully, playing in Europe next season will persuade him to stay with us."

Palma, himself, also commented on his future at the end of last season, saying, via Daily Record: "First of all, there have been no concrete proposals or offers for me. It's just been speculation.

"I am completely focused on my team. Nothing can distract me during this important time. In my mind, I am only thinking to try and help Aris to get as many points as possible. If a good proposal comes after that, then we can talk. But for now, I only care about this season and Aris."

West Ham: Journalist Makes "Shock" Nayef Aguerd Exit Claim

Journalist Pete O'Rourke has made a "shock" West Ham United exit claim involving Morocco international defender Nayef Aguerd.

Who have West Ham sold?

David Moyes and the Hammers sold star midfielder Declan Rice to Arsenal for a fee in the region of £105 million, while Gianluca Scamacca joined Atalanta for £21 million soon after.

The aforementioned duo come as West Ham's most high-profile departures of the summer window, with Nikola Vlasic, Arthur Masuaku, Manuel Lanzini, Mipo Odebuko and Armstrong Oko-Flex leaving the London Stadium permanently.

Meanwhile, promising young midfielder Flynn Downes completed a season-long loan move to Southampton – freeing up space for the arrivals of Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus.

Moyes' side have enjoyed a sensational, and perhaps unexpected, start to the new Premier League season; currently sitting pretty in the top four whilst remaining unbeaten.

Following their latest win prior to the international break, a 2-1 victory away to Luton Town, West Ham's head coach heaped praise on his side's application.

"[It was] good," said Moyes.

"Good against a tough team who are going to put teams under a lot of pressure. Overall I think we did a brilliant job tonight. It's not easy to come here and we were under loads of pressure. Thankfully we stood up to it, got a couple of goals and played pretty well ourselves."

West Ham have also been boosted by the fact they haven't lost any more key players after Rice, but according to O'Rourke, that could well change.

Nayef Aguerd represents Morocco.

Sharing an update on Aguerd's future at the club, O'Rourke has now claimed that Saudi side Al-Ittihad are planning a "shock" move for the Moroccan.

He writes for Football Insider and on X that a "late big-money move" is on the cards, and as the Saudi transfer window closes in two days, it will be a swoop pretty close to their deadline day.

Nuno Espirito Santo's Al-Ittihad side, it is believed, could work to seal a "stunning deal" for Aguerd, a player who has proved key for West Ham since he joined the club.

Little else is said on whether this move is indeed possible, as Moyes will surely be unwilling to sanction it, but perhaps (and we're just speculating) a mammoth bid could at least get them thinking.

How good is Nayef Aguerd?

Former teammate Achraf Sidki, lavishing praise on Aguerd, has previously stated that West Ham have signed "one of the best defenders in Europe".

“West Ham have signed one of the best defenders in Europe,” Sidki said to The Athletic.

“I’m so proud that one of my former teammates will be playing in the Premier League.

“I’m surprised he didn’t move to England sooner. When we were younger we both had big dreams of becoming professional footballers. Nayef has done well and I’m confident he will be a great signing for West Ham.

“There were so many times he saved the team when we played together. That’s when I realised he was very good. I remember one occasion we played against a team called Tetouan.

“We needed to win and it was probably Nayef’s best game for the club. He was man of the match and after the game, I told him, ‘One day you will make it to the Premier League. You don’t know how good you are’."

Chelsea Submit £26m Bid For The "Norwegian Mbappe"

Chelsea have now submitted a bid for Club Brugge's Antonio Nusa, with journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen providing an update on whether the attacker would be willing to leave the Belgian club.

What's the latest Chelsea transfer news?

There could be a number of outgoings for Chelsea on transfer deadline day, with The Secret Scout reporting they are looking at loaning out Trevoh Chalobah, as it is unlikely they will be able to conclude a permanent move, and Bayern Munich are named as potential suitors.

Conor Gallagher may also be on his way out of the door, with Tottenham Hotspur interested, and the north London club know they will need to make an offer of around £50m to tempt the Blues into a sale, with the player himself keen on the move across the capital.

Gallagher's departure could be accelerated by the arrival of Manchester City's Cole Palmer, with a deal that could rise to £45m having already been confirmed as the attacking midfielder arrives at Stamford Bridge.

Very few inside Manchester City would have imagined Palmer being sold at the start of the summer, but he is now on his way to the capital, with Mauricio Pochettino evidently keen to bolster his attacking options, and there could still be more signings to come.

Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, Belgian Nieuwsblad journalist Calcoen has now confirmed that Chelsea have made an offer of €30m (£26m) for Club Brugge youngster Nusa, potentially giving the 18-year-old a huge decision to make before the 11pm deadline.

The Brugge ace has always said he wants to remain with the Belgian club for at least one more season, but he could be swayed now one of the Premier League's biggest clubs has come calling.

It remains to be seen whether Brugge choose to accept the bid, but the Blues are clearly keen on bolstering their attacking options even further before the deadline, having made a concrete approach for the versatile forward.

Who is Antonio Nusa?

Despite still being very young, the Norwegian prodigy has already acclimatised himself with first-team football, having made a total of 58 professional appearances across spells with Stabaek and Club Brugge after making his breakthrough with the former.

Since arriving in the Belgian Pro League, he has managed to break into the first team with Brugge, but he has not been incredibly prolific in front of goal, registering just two goals and one assist in all competitions last season.

Of course, it is still very early days in the Langhus-born forward's career, but it is unclear whether he would be able to make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge, despite being lauded as "crazy talented" by football talent scout Jacek Kulig.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Kulig has also hailed Nusa as the "Norwegian Mbappe", while former captain Ruud Vormer has claimed his ex-teammate "will play for the biggest clubs in the world", indicating that he has sky-high potential.

The only concern is whether this would be a necessary signing for Chelsea at this stage given the fact they have already been extremely busy in the summer transfer window, strengthening their forward areas considerably.
