Former New Zealand assistant coach Trent Woodhill has blamed the New Zealand team management for the “unfathomable” treatment of Ross Taylor, saying he sensed the trouble brewing during the team’s tour of the West Indies last year. Taylor took temporary leave of absence from New Zealand cricket after losing his Test captaincy in December 2012, and returned to the national side for the T20 series against England.”During the West Indies tour I was really frustrated with the way Ross Taylor was being treated, not by anyone other than the manager and a few of the senior players who weren’t giving him the support that he needed,” Woodhill told . “I don’t think it was ever about Ross and Brendon. It was always about management. To me, Brendon should want to captain his country and I was all for a split captaincy, but it’s just the way it was done [that was the problem].”After the World Twenty20 I closed the book on New Zealand, but the way Ross was treated and is being treated I just feel bitter towards their treating [of] one of the best human beings I’ve ever met. Ross Taylor is literally the nicest guy you could ever meet and the most respectful and down to earth, and the way they treated him [was unfathomable].”Following his removal from Test captaincy, Taylor said he “never” received support from Mike Hesson, the New Zealand coach, during his time as captain and that he was “surprised” by the timing of the decision that came after he had led New Zealand to victory over Sri Lanka in Colombo.Woodhill, who is from Australia, was involved with the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League and will be part of the Delhi Daredevils support staff during the IPL. When asked about why he wasn’t appointed the New Zealand coach, instead of Hesson, he said, “The New Zealanders didn’t want a foreigner. They had issues with [former Australian coach and director of cricket] John Buchanan – he was ostracised, and still is – and the manager, players’ association rep and new CEO [David White] all just wanted a Kiwi in there.”

De olho na estreia do Campeonato Carioca, Abel Braga comandou, na manhã desta quinta-feira, o primeiro treino com os três reforços para 2019 presentes: Rodrigo Caio, Arrascaeta e Gabriel Barbosa. A atividade também foi a primeira no Ninho do Urubu após a pré-temporada realizada pelo clube em Orlando.

Os jogadores, que desembarcaram na manhã de quarta-feira no Rio de Janeiro, iniciaram o trabalho na academia do CT antes de irem a campo. Sem indicação de time titular ou reserva, Abel Braga observou o trabalho técnico, cobrando muita intensidade dos atletas, que sofreram com o forte calor na Zona Oeste.

O treino tático será realizado à tarde, sem a presença dos jornalistas no CT.

“Atrás” dos demais companheiros por terem iniciado a pré-temporada depois, Arrascaeta e Gabigol não devem fazer suas estreias domingo, contra o Bangu, na estreia do Estadual no Maracanã. Quem também está fora é o colombiano Berrío. O atacante sofreu uma lesão muscular na coxa direita, em Orlando, e deu sequência ao tratamento na parte interna do Ninho, sem ir ao gramado.

Já Juan apareceu e correu no campo, mas ainda não trabalhou com o elenco. O zagueiro está recuperando-se da cirurgia no tornozelo direito, realizada em setembro. Com contrato até o fim de abril, o camisa 4, prestes a completar 40 anos, terá a chance de vestir a camisa rubro-negra antes de se aposentar.

DUPLA É BEM RECEBIDA, MAS COM TROTE

Após o treino, o zagueiro Rhodolfo atendeu a imprensa no CT e comentou sobre os primeiros contatos com o atacante Gabigol e o meia Arrascaeta, jogadores que, até então, costumavam ser rivais a “dar trabalho” ao defensor.

O camisa 44 os elogiou, garantiu que a dupla foi bem recebida por todos no Flamengo, mas não escaparam do trote, com o tradicional “corredor polonês”.

– As chegadas foram boas. O nosso grupo é muito bom e quem chega sempre é bem recebido. É um dos melhores elencos que trabalhei. Eles treinaram e fizemos um corredor para dar umas pancadinhas neles – comentou Rhodolfo.

ELENCO DESFRUTA DE NOVO MÓDULO

Nesta manhã, o elenco profissional desfrutou da estrutura do módulo do CT George Helal, inaugurado em dezembro, pela gestão de Eduardo Bandeira de Mello. O custo do complexo de 5 mil metros quadrados foi de R$ 26 milhões. O módulo que atendia aos profissionais foi herdado pelas categorias de base.

Os dois novos campos, os quais podem ser observados da nova estrutura, contudo, ainda passam pelos últimos retoques e não estão sendo utilizados.

Ainda nesta quinta-feira, os jogadores do Flamengo realizam outro treino, às 16h. Na sexta, a atividade também será à tarde. Já no sábado, na véspera da estreia do Carioca, trabalho em dois períodos no Ninho: às 10h e às 16h.

حسمت المباراة بفوز لايبزيج بثلاثية لهدف ليصبح رصيده 63 نقطة بالمركز الثالث، ويجمد رصيد بايرن ميونخ عند 68 نقطة في الصدارة.

Com 16 times na disputa, o Campeonato Paulista 2019 terá início neste sábado.Botafogo-SP, Bragantino, Corinthians, Ferroviária, Guarani, Ituano, Mirassol, Grêmio Novorizontino, Oeste, Palmeiras, Ponte Preta, Red Bull Brasil, Santos, São Bento, São Caetano e São Paulo são os clubes da competição.

O Paulistão 2019 irá até o dia 21 de abril. Os 16 clubes da competição estão divididos em quatro grupos. Na primeira fase, os times enfrentam apenas os clubes dos outros grupos, totalizando 12 rodadas. Os dois melhores classificados de cada chave avançarão às quartas de final. A fase de mata-mata (com quartas, semi e final) será disputada com jogos de ida e de volta.

Organizadora do torneio, a Federação Paulista de Futebol distribuirá R$ 11,7 milhões em premiação para os participantes do estadual. Só o campeão irá faturar R$ 5 milhões. O campeonato adotará o VAR a partir das quartas de final.

O Corinthians, que levou a taça em 2017 e 2018, é o maior campeão do Paulistão e tenta conquistar neste ano seu 30º título estadual. Por sua vez, o Santos quer soltar o grito de campeão que não sai desde 2016. Já Palmeiras e São Paulo tentam levar o Paulistão pela primeira vez na década atual. Seus últimos títulos estaduais foram em 2008 e 2005, respectivamente.

A brace of double-wicket overs from fast bowlers, Rahul Shukla and Siddharth Trivedi, was the decisive blow that secured a second consecutive victory for Rajasthan Royals this season. They did not pick a spinner on a fast and bouncy pitch in their first home game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and the strategy worked; all five quicks took wickets and were able to prevent a dogged Eoin Morgan from single-handedly dragging Kolkata Knight Riders to the target.Knight Riders had also read the pitch right, replacing the slower seamer L Balaji with Shami Ahmed, and Sunil Narine was their sole spinner. Narine, however, went for 18 in his third over – his most expensive in the IPL – as Royals managed to accumulate 144, because of a steady innings from Brad Hodge and a cameo from Dishant Yagnik. Their fast bowlers then vindicated their selections, dismissing Knight Riders in 19 overs.Sreesanth opened the Royals’ defence with a 14-run over but that did not set the tone. Shaun Tait hustled batsmen with speeds that touched 150 kph, and the less-heralded seamers did the damage. Shukla bustled in, bowling in the early 140 kph-range, and had immediate impact, demolishing Manvinder Bisla’s stumps and drawing an edge from Jacques Kallis off successive deliveries in the third over.In the seventh over Rahul Dravid brought on his fifth seamer, Trivedi, who trapped Manoj Tiwary lbw with his first ball, and then had Gautam Gambhir caught behind with his fifth. His pick-up loft over long leg against Tait was the highlight and he kept the asking-rate under control. What he couldn’t control, however, was the tendency of his partners to play rash shots – like Brett Lee did. At the start of the penultimate over, Knight Riders needed 23 off 12 but only had two wickets left. Morgan was bowled by Cooper first ball, and that was that.The Royals innings had also suffered from the fall of regular wickets but they had Ajinkya Rahane anchoring the start and Brad Hodge staying until the finish to provide them with a competitive total. They recovered from the failure of Shane Watson, who was playing his first game of the season, and the fall of Dravid and Stuart Binny, who had played valuable innings in the victory against Delhi Daredevils.Narine then derailed the innings in the 16th over, having Rahane caught behind and Cooper stumped. At 114 for 5 at the start of the 19th over, Royals needed something special and Hodge and Yagnik provided it. They attacked Narine for 18 runs, and then Hodge ensured 12 more came off the final over, as he finished on 46 to give his fast bowlers enough to defend.

أكد البلجيكي سفين فاندنبروك المدير الفني لنادي الوداد المغربي، أن فريق الأهلي استحق الفوز بـ دوري أبطال إفريقيا، ولم يخطف اللقب.

وتوج الأهلي بدوري أبطال إفريقيا للمرة 11 في تاريخه، بعد التعادل الإيجابي مع الوداد بهدف لمثله خلال مباراة الإياب لنهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وكان قد فاز في مواجهة الذهاب التي أقيمت في القاهرة بهدفين مقابل هدف.

وتابع: “فريق الوداد بدأ المباراة بشكل جيد، ولكن اللاعبون عانوا من الضغط خاصة في الشوط الثاني، كنت دائما أقول إن المباراة النهائية ستلعب على تفاصيل صغيرة، وأن ضربة ركنية وخطأ من كرتين ثابتتين هما من سيحدد الفريق الفائز”.
