Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara believes there is no chance that Manchester United will allow Jesse Lingard to return to West Ham.

The Lowdown: Lingard excels at West Ham

The Hammers enjoyed an excellent 2020/21 season and Lingard ended up being one of their star men, despite only arriving on loan in January. The midfielder scored nine goals and registered four assists in just 16 Premier League appearances, becoming an instant crowd favourite in the process.

The 28-year-old returned to United at the end of the campaign, but he has again struggled for playing time at Old Trafford, failing to start a single league game in 2021/22.

The Latest: O’Hara has his doubts

Despite rumours linking Lingard with a return to West Ham, O’Hara doesn’t see it happening for a second time.

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast on Monday [via Read West Ham], the 35-year-old insisted that Manchester United wouldn’t sell to the Hammers now that they are a direct rival. He said:

“As if Man United are going to allow Jesse Lingard to go to West Ham – they are above them in the table. That’s not going to happen, that’s competition.

“There is no way they are going to allow a top player, who was brilliant for West Ham when he went there. They aren’t going to allow him to go on loan there this season when they are in direct competition. That’s never going to happen.”

The Verdict: Ideal January arrival

David Moyes’ Irons are on fire at the moment, sitting third in the table and having the strongest group of players at the club in years. If Lingard were to come back in January, it would arguably feel like the icing on the cake, giving West Ham even more quality in midfield and attacking areas.

It is sad to see him getting so little game-time at Manchester United, with the 28-year-old someone who should be starting regularly for a top-flight club based off his performances at the start of 2021. He has been described as ‘brilliant’ by Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the Norwegian continually overlooking him from his team selection.

However, as O’Hara says, it would be a surprise if Lingard were to return to the London Stadium this season considering that the Hammers are in a top-four battle with Manchester United.

This left Shenwari and Shapoor Zadran with the nerve-wracking task of scoring the remaining ten runs, facing the aggressive bowling of a pumped-up Schiferli.By this stage, even defensive strokes were being cheered by the Afghanistan contingent from the sidelines. And with only six runs required, Zadran (1) failed to offer a shot as Schiferli wrapped him on his back pad to claim his fifth wicket, leaving the match on a knife-edge.But, in the next over, Shenwari threw his hands at a Bukhari delivery, the ball slashing over the slips for four as Afghanistan snatched an unlikely victory, their first in the Intercontinental Cup, and another significant achievement for a country so new to the international fold.

أما المادة 60 من اللائحة، فتنص على استقلالية اللجان مع العمل دائمًا لدعم مصالح اتحاد الكرة وفقًا لقوانين ولوائحه، مع منع روؤساء اللجان والنواب وأيًا من أفراد أسرهم المباشرين من ممارسة أي وظيفة تنفيذية في اتحاد الكرة أو تربطه علاقة عمل مع الاتحاد أو أحد أعضاءه أو روابطه أو الأندية وشركاتها ومؤسساتها.

A number of Liverpool supporters are fuming after Andy Robertson picked up an injury for Scotland, with the Reds seemingly set to be without yet another key man.

The 27-year-old has been an outstanding player for Liverpool, joining from Hull City in 2017 and maturing into arguably the best left-back in the world.

This adds to the news of the international withdrawals of Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, as well as the already injured list, which includes Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.

The Indian board has rejected a request from its Karnataka state association to allow players from outside that state to participate in the proposed Twenty20 Karnataka Premier League (KPL). The BCCI’s decision to restrict KPL to an intra-state event – potentially a big spoke in the state league’s wheel – is to prevent the possibility of such tournaments diluting the concept of its cash-rich IPL.N Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, said the decision that was taken during the Indian board’s working committee meeting in Mumbai on Thursday. “They [Karnataka] asked for the permission about KPL but we told them that as long as they do not include players from outside Karnataka we have no problem,” he said.Ratnakar Shetty, the BCCI’s chief administrative officer, said the decision was taken due to two reasons. “Primarily, the BCCI wants to ensure that the concept of the IPL, a hugely successful property, is not diluted,” Shetty told Cricinfo. “Besides, the board wants to avoid a situation where other state associations come up with similar demands and players end up playing for states other than their own. In the long term, this will affect the game’s development at the local level.”Brijesh Patel, secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), indicated that the decision was on expected lines and said the tournament would go ahead as planned with an auction of 40 state cricketers in Bangalore on Friday. “It is a local tournament and to hire outstation players we need BCCI permission, and they have said no to that,” Patel told Cricinfo. “We are fine with that, and this won’t affect the tournament. We had already made it clear to the franchises that this proposal was subject to BCCI approval.”Charu Sharma, who represents the Frontier Group, KPL’s partner, also said the BCCI decision would not affect the popularity of the tournament. “It was only an opportunity for the development of players to display their Twenty20 skills but if the [Indian] board in their wisdom feel outstation players shouldn’t be included we will abide by it,” Sharma said.The KSCA had launched the league last month to expand the game to rural areas in the state, and bidding for eight franchises in the tournament had fetched Rs 35 crore. The concept of the tournament, however, has been questioned by Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, both of whom hail from Karnataka. Srinath and Kumble, who was captain of IPL’s Bangalore Royal Challengers this season, raised concerns over the franchise model that would allow people not associated with the game to play a significant role in the tournament and asked the KSCA to organise KPL with its own funds. Rahul Dravid, Kumble’s IPL teammate, will also not be part of KPL.

وقال تشافي: “القرار تقني، يلعب أحد عشر لاعبًا بالإضافة إلى خمسة تغييرات، لا يستطيع الجميع اللعب، اللاعب الذي هو في أفضل مستوى سيلعب، هكذا كان الأمر طوال حياتي، أفهم أنهما (بيكيه وألبا) … لكنهما يساعدانني كثيرًا، سواء كانا يلعبان أم لا”.

وأضاف: “أريد ألبا هنا، كقائد، كشخص تربطني به صلة جيدة، سيساعدنا سواء لعب أم لا، لم أعتقد أبدًا أنه سيغادر الفريق، ستكون هناك مباريات وفرص ليشارك”.

وتابع تشافي: “ألبا لاعب آخر في الفريق، سيساعدنا، سيكون مهمًا، يجب أن يكون مفتاحًا بسبب أقدميته وخبرته، سيلعب بالتأكيد، أنا سعيد بوجوده”.

وعن قلة مشاركة اللاعبين مع تقدمهم في السن كما حدث معه سابقًا، أكد تشافي: “هذا يحصل للجميع، سيحصل حتى لبيدري حينما يبلغ من العمر 34 عامًا، هذه سنة الحياة، ليس من السهل تحديد اللحظة”.

وأوضح: “على سبيل المثال، كان لدي عرض للاستمرار في النادي لمدة ثلاث سنوات أخرى، في سن 35، لكنني فهمت أنها كانت اللحظة، إنه قانون الحياة”.

-Isso incomoda muito. Fazemos gols em todos os jogos, mas o Brasileiro é muito difícil e sofremos gols que nos incomodam muito. Contra o Vitória, por dois minutos para acabar, sofremos gol. mas temos evoluído coletivamente, com todos dispostos a marcar para sofremos menos. Questão psicológica
Isso tem sido trabalhado. Quando tomamos o gol, todos sentem. Pelo tempo que sofremos na zona de rebaixamento, a qualquer gol sofrido, passam coisas na cabeça. Trabalhamos para isso não acontecer, e temos evoluído, com bom jogo do começo ao fim. Uma hora ou outra, a confiança vem por absoluto e não vamos sentir gols sofridos.

Isso é uma estatística. Não tem motivo para sentir com Mumbi cheio. No último jogo, teve recorde e fizemos, talvez, melhor partida, consistente, dominando, só que resultado não veio. Mas não quer sentir que estamos sentindo a presença do torcedor.
