O Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. recebeu, nesta segunda-feira (30), o ex-jogador Zico para o workshop que está sendo realizado pela instituição. O Galinho de Quintinho, como é chamado carinhosamente, foi recebido pelo Vice-Presidente do INJR, Neymar da Silva Santos, para conhecer o complexo e conceder uma palestra sobre valores para os colaboradores.

O craque parabenizou Neymar e sua família pela idealização do projeto:

— Tomara que todos aqueles que têm a oportunidade de trabalhar e receber isso possam usufruir bastante. Não sabem como é importante ter uma possibilidade de passar por uma experiência em vida como essa. Achei a infraestrutura maravilhosa, estão de parabéns. Me coloquei à disposição no que for possível para ajudar e desenvolver.

Zico aproveitou para demonstrar sua satisfação com o projeto:

— O bem que eles estão fazendo para as pessoas em uma região que ele conhece bem, cresceu, desenvolveu, e se tornou o grande Neymar que ele é hoje, precisa ser muito bem divulgado, para verem o trabalho que é feito nesse sentido pelos profissionais e pelo próprio Neymar. Esse Instituto está irretocável, está um espetáculo. Abrange tudo em relação ao que uma criança, um jovem ou um pai quer e também o que o professor precisa para trabalhar.

Ange Postecoglou may well have his work cut out this summer as his new Celtic side try to bridge the gap between themselves and their biggest rivals.

Though, with the fear of Odsonne Edouard leaving, the Hoops will need to find a new striker in order to do that.

On the chalkboard

Edouard has attracted the interest of English shores and if he does leave Parkhead behind, Celtic will likely struggle for goals.

Albian Ajeti netted just six strikes after arriving from West Ham last summer while Leigh Griffiths only managed seven himself.

The Bhoys have been touted with a number of strikers throughout the summer so far with a move for Charlie Wyke ramping up.

It’s believed talks are underway to sign the striker on a free transfer but could a better option lie in Japan?

Replacing Edouard

Celtic have naturally been linked to a number of Postecoglou’s former employees including Mat Ryan and Aaron Mooy.

However, he’s now being tipped to sign an individual from Yokohama F. Marinos, the team he left in order to come to Glasgow.

Reports suggest that Postecoglou wants to reunite himself with Ado Onaiwu, a man born to Japanese and Nigerian parents.

He earned his Japan debut last week and then in just his second appearance for his country, bagged a hat-trick against Kyrgyzstan in a 5-1 win.

During that match, Onaiwu managed eight shots, two key passes and was fouled on three occasions, proving how dangerous he can be in the final third.

The striker appears to be a natural-born finisher, scoring ten goals in 16 matches under Postecoglou for the Marinos this term. In total, he’s found the back of the net 21 times in his career with the club.

Without the Australian, it’s unlikely he’d have that record. Speaking about the 55-year-old after he left for Celtic, Onaiwu hailed his influence: “I always knew if I kept playing well and scoring goals for Yokohama, I would get a chance with my national team. And I owe this to my manager Ange Postecoglou who has left the club this week.”

The 25-year-old added: “I have enjoyed an excellent relationship with him, and he has been a huge influence in my career. I don’t mind admitting that when he first came to the club, I was confused with his training because it was of such high intensity. But because of that, he improved my game immeasurably.”

Onaiwu’s numbers this term suggest he’s a solid all-around forward. Like Edouard, he’s capable of bringing others into play, registering 0.9 key passes per match.

He is physical enough to win 1.4 aerial duels per game, meaning he shouldn’t be overawed playing in the Premiership.

Though, the most vital stat of all is that he’s scored a goal every 95 minutes in the J-League this season. For that alone, Celtic have to be interested in his services.

He knows Postecoglou’s high intense style of football and the manager knows how to get the best from him.

Speaking in a Q&A for football.london, Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has made an encouraging transfer claim.

The Lowdown: Sell-to-buy…

It is set to be a strange summer at Tottenham, with the club needing to offload players before properly finalising player moves in this window.

Of all the names linked with a summer exit from Spurs, only Juan Foyth has managed to complete a permanent move away so far and help to bolster Tottenham’s transfer kitty.

The other players linked with departures, including potentially Harry Winks, Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko (football.london), are all still on Spurs’ books.

Speaking in a football.london Q&A, Gold has now explained what Spurs will definitely do if they manage to sell a particular player.

Indeed, the journalist says that Tottenham will move for a new right-back if wantaway ace Aurier can secure a departure this summer.

“It’s quite simple with Aurier,” Gold says.

“He wants to go, Spurs would be happy for him to go, but they need a reasonable bid (not as high as the 20m euros reported in France last week).

“Tottenham will move for a new right-back if he does head out of the exit door.

“Tottenham like Aarons and they need some homegrown signings but it’s all on Paratici now.”

The Verdict: Encouraging…

Tottenham have long been linked with a new right-back, with reports of interest in Max Aarons dating as far back as last summer.

Spurs were also tracking Turkey international defender Zeki Celik last year and those links have re-emerged over 2021 as well. 

If the Lilywhites are going to initiate a major summer overhaul, supporters may be encouraged by this claim that Spurs will move to immediately replace Aurier if the Ivorian can seal his exit.

ويعقد عصام عبد الفتاح مؤتمرًا صحفيًا حاليًا، للحديث عن ملف التحكيم والحكام في الفترة الماضية، وعن خطة تطوير لجنة الحكام في الفترة المقبلة، والعديد من الملفات الخاصة باللجنة، والقوانين الجديدة في التحكيم.

وقال عصام عبد الفتاح في تصريحات خلال المؤتمر الصحفي: “حكمان مصريان سينضمان لبطولة كأس العالم 2022 ولم يتم تحديدهما، سواء كانوا حكام ساحة أو فار أو مساعدين”.

وأردف: “أصبحت هناك لا مركزية فى لجنة الحكام، قمنا بتوزيع أعضاء لجنة الحكام من أجل الإشراف على المناطق”.

وتابع: “قمنا بتوزيع أعضاء لجنة التحكيم، من أجل المتابعة المستمرة للوقوف على آخر التطورات ونجاح حكام المناطق، من أجل ظهور حكام مميزين”.

وأردف: “قمنا بعمل كوادر من الحكام ووفرنا لهم مدربين لياقة بدنية، ولابد من أن يكون هناك محاضرون للحكام، واستقطبنا لذلك محاضرين أجانب من الخارج، وقمنا بإعداد صف ثان من الحكام، ظهر من 8 إلى 10 حكام جدد فى الدورى الممتاز”.

وأضاف: “يتم محاسبة الحكام بعد الأخطاء فى مباريات الدوري الممتاز، ونقوم بمعالجة الأخطاء، ويكون هناك حساب لأي حكم يخطئ فى المباريات، ولكننا لن نُعلن عن عقوبة الحكم”.

وزاد: “أكن التقدير للسادة المحللين، ولكن هناك منهم غير مؤهل لتقييم الحكام، لا أحب الخطأ في أحد، ولكن هناك الآن محللين للحكام فى كل مكان ومن بينهم غير المؤهل”.

واختتم: “هناك دورة للمحللين فى اتحاد الكرة، وأنا لست المحاضر بل هو من خارج مصر من أجل أن يقوموا بتحليل الحكام”.

Andros Townsend has revealed he would be open to a move to Glasgow Rangers should the opportunity arise.

The Lowdown: Townsend is a free agent

29-year-old Townsend is a free agent this summer as he will leave current club Crystal Palace at the end of the month (Transfermarkt).

As such, he could be signed as a free agent – however, the Gers would surely need to convince him to lower his £58,000-a-week wages (salarysport.com).

The Latest: Townsend open to Gers move

Speaking to talkSPORT (via The Daily Record Transfer Blog, 23/05, 13.44), Townsend revealed he would be open to a move to Ibrox. He said when asked whether he would consider Rangers or Celtic:

“I’m open to everything.

“If there’s an option that presents itself and it’s the best one for me and fulfils my needs, I wouldn’t turn it down just because it’s in another country.”

The Verdict: Stellar option

While there have been no reports of interest in the 13-time England international as of yet, Townsend would be a stellar signing for Rangers were they to make a move. During his career, he has made more than 240 appearances in the Premier League, while he has 48 goals and 72 assists to his name.

As Steven Gerrard and co prepare the Gers squad for a potential Champions League run next term, players with the quality of Townsend could be vital to helping the Gers be successful. After these comments, it remains to be seen whether Ross Wilson initiates contact.
