Issa Diop came close to costing West Ham United the win as David Moyes’ side held on to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 on Monday night.

The Irons stormed out of the blocks to claim a three-goal lead before half-time for the second successive Premier League game, but would have feared a repeat of the 3-3 Arsenal draw when Leander Dendoncker pulled one back.

Fabio Silva later set up a nervy finish for Moyes’ men when he drilled home Wolves’ second, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s team could not find another way past Lukasz Fabianski and the Hammers clinched three vital points.

West Ham now sit fourth in the Premier League standings and are in control of their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, while a win over Leicester City this Sunday can see the London Stadium natives close the gap to third to a single point.

Moyes will have been nervous of the Irons letting slip another three-goal lead when Dendoncker and Silva struck home for Wolves, having seen Diop and centre-back partner Craig Dawson both struggle at Molineux.

West Ham were once again without Angelo Ogbonna as the Italian continues his recovery from a high ankle sprain, although he has been making solid progress as he looks to return after seven games in the treatment room.

The Hammers sorely missed the former Juventus enforcer, as an early yellow card for Dawson left the Watford loanee – now set for a £2m permanent summer switch – having to be overly cautious and give up plenty of chances.

Willian Jose, Dendoncker and Daniel Podence each struck three efforts on goal while Adama Traore’s two and Pedro Neto’s five attempts helped toward Wolves taking 20 shots, per WhoScored, eight more than West Ham give up on average per Premier League game this season.

Diop was no better, as the Frenchman switched off too many times and failed to cover the space left by Aaron Cresswell to leave Silva with time to pick his spot and drill home low into the far-right corner.

يتمسك نادي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي بموقفه تجاه لاعب الفريق ماسون جرينوود، في ظل الاتهامات الموجهة ضده من قِبل صديقته.

وكان جرينوود قد قُبض عليه بتهمة الاعتداء الجسدي العنيف على صديقته، وممارسة الجنس معها بالإجبار واغتصابها.

وقرر مانشستر يونايتد قبل أيام، إيقاف جرينوود لحين إشعار آخر، إلى جانب إزالة صورته من متجر النادي.

وأصدرت شرطة مانشستر بيانًا منذ قليل حيث أكدت من خلاله استمرار اعتقال جرينوود في إطار التحقيقات معه.

وحسب الصحفي الشهير فابريزيو رومانو بشبكة “سكاي سبورتس” العالمية، فإن مانشستر يونايتد كان لديه بيان جديد تعقيبًا على ما أدلت به الشرطة مساء اليوم.

وقال الشياطين الحمر في بيانهم: “مانشستر يونايتد يكرر إدانته الشديدة لأعمال العنف من أي نوع”.

وأضاف النادي: “كما ذكرنا سابقًا، لن يتدرب ماسون جرينوود مع النادي أو يلعب لصالحه حتى إشعار آخر”.

Sam Allardyce’s men put five past the Blues to bolster their hopes of surviving in the top-flight, though the Midlands outfit still remain some 11 points adrift with only six matches left to play.

A win this evening would certainly be another big boost in the right direction and Big Sam must turn to one man in his hour of need after his impressive exploits at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old has largely been a forgotten man at West Brom this season, starting only 15 times in the Premier League. In fact, his 53 minutes against Chelsea were his first since the start of February, when he struggled to make an impact against his former club, Sheffield United.

All four of his league goals this season may have come against the same side, but he cannot be ignored after tearing Thomas Tuchel’s side apart last weekend.

talkSPORT claimed he haunted the Blues ‘like Sergio Aguero’ whilst ex-England shot-stopper Paul Robinson lauded his performance “amazing” to Football Insider.

Despite coming off the bench for the injured Branislav Ivanovic in the 37th minute, Robinson was indeed the Baggies’ star-performer, scoring both his shots at goal.

The former Blades forward also managed to pull off two successful dribbles, as many as the silky Matheus Pereira – who played the full 90 – and as many as Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic combined.

Whilst only one player on the whole pitch could better his three key passes, an impressive feat considering he was barely on the pitch for an hour.

Evidently, he was a thorn in Chelsea’s side and he could well repeat those exploits against the Saints tonight – if Allardyce finally unshackles him.

Albion Journalist Adrian Goldberg believes the Baggies boss has “missed a trick” with the £13m-rated dynamo this season, he told ‘The Liquidator’ podcast:

“I just think they’ve missed a trick with Callum Robinson, and I’ve argued this point long and hard that he offers you something that Hal Robson-Kanu doesn’t up front, if only it’s a bustling energy and determination, but also as that goal proved he’s got real quality.”

It’s that sort of presence a desperate team needs, so he must start at the Hawthorns tonight. Robinson can once again be West Brom’s game-changer.

Marcelo Chamusca inicia neste domingo, às 21h, mais uma missão à frente do Guarani, que terá o ABC como adversário no Frasqueirão, pelo jogo de ida das semifinais da Série C do Campeonato Brasileiro. Após comandar o Bugre no acesso à Série B, encerrando uma meta que ficou próxima de ser alcançada em 2014 e 2015 com o Fortaleza, ele busca mais um feito pelo clube campineiro. Mais um feito no trabalho de “acordar o gigante” campeão brasileiro de 1978, clube que revelou nomes como Careca e Amoroso e que vinha sofrendo nos últimos anos.

Chamusca foi oficializado e apresentado como técnico do Guarani no dia 6 de abril. Sua missão era, em um primeiro momento, reformular do elenco que não teve êxito na Série A2 do Campeonato Paulista. Ele fez exigências à diretoria, como melhoras nos departamentos de fisiologia, fisioterapia e análise de desempenho e, menos de dois meses depois, veio o início da Terceirona. O Guarani fez a melhor campanha da fase de classificação e, após dois jogos repletos de drama, superou o ASA conquistando o tão sonhado acesso à Segundona.

Antes de iniciar a Série C deste ano pelo Bugre, Chamusca teve duas experiências que acabaram sem êxito no Fortaleza. Em 2014 e 2015, o Tricolor cearense foi o melhor time da fase de classificação, mas não passou das quartas de final, sendo eliminado por Macaé e Brasil de Pelotas, respectivamente, diante do seu torcedor. Obter o acesso à Série B era mais do que um desejo para Chamusca, que, enfim, corou um trabalho iniciado muito tempo antes de assumir o time de Campinas.

– Sensação extremamente prazerosa de coroar um trabalho de três anos, da quantidade de pontos que conquistamos ao longo desses três anos, de, enfim, ter êxito, conquistar o objetivo. Os deuses do futebol fizeram com que as coisas acontecessem esse ano. Tinha toda a minha estatística de 30 jogos invicto em casa… Era muito importante coroar esse trabalho. Comecei no Guarani praticamente do zero. Tive toda a autonomia para solicitar mudanças, as chegadas do Rodrigo Pastana (executivo de futebol) e do Marcus Vinícius (coordenador de futebol) fizeram a diferença, a diretoria horou todos os compromisso, os salários, premiações… – destacou Chamusca, em entrevista ao LANCE!, antes de completar:

– O êxito não foi apenas do modelo de jogo, não veio apenas pelos resultados. O êxito foi um somatórios de fatores. O número de torcedores nos jogos foi aumentando, o público foi crescendo. Tudo fez a diferença.

MOMENTO ÍMPAR NA CARREIRA DE TREINADOR

Marcelo Chamusca tem a exata noção do feito alcançado na semana passada. O Guarani, clube de tanta tradição, soma oito rebaixamentos neste século, chegou a correr risco de queda à Série D em 2014 e quase perdeu seu maior patrimônio material, o Brinco de Ouro. Participar da reconstrução do Bugre foi algo que motivou o treinador de 50 anos completados um dia antes do jogo de volta contra o ASA (7 de agosto) a aceitar a proposta feita em abril.

– É um momento marcante na minha carreira. Sabia que o Guarani estava atravessando dificuldades. Mas era uma chande de acordar esse gigante. E participar desse momento é algo ímpar na minha carreira. Vi nesse momento de dificuldade, a chance de trabalhar em um clube com o peso da camisa do Guarani, de acordar esse gigante. O Guarani já entra em outro patamar em 2017 – disse.

Receio de não ver o bom trabalho desenvolvido render o esperado acesso? Chamusca não teve receio de uma nova decepção. E a recompensa veio.

– Eu sempre acreditei em ter êxito por conhecer muito bem a competição, o regulamento… Colocamos algumas situações que foram aceitas. O grupo assimilou o nosso conceito, nosso modelo de jogo. O entendimento dentro do vestiário também foi grande. E ter um grupo disciplinado faz a diferença – destacou o treinador.

CHAMUSCA BUSCA MAIS UM FEITO À FRENTE DO BUGRE

A meta do momento para Chamusca é obter mais um efeito à frente do Guarani, clube cuja camisa ostenta uma estrela dourada referente do título do Brasileirão de 1978 e uma prateada que lembra a conquista da Série B de 1981.

– Não muda absolutamente nada. Existe um padrão de jogo e ele será mantido. É claro que o acesso tira um peso grande dos jogadores, tem a questão emocional que fica aliviada. Mas não pode faltar foco, concentração e falta de ambição por um outro grande objetivo que é colocar mais uma estrela na camisa do Guarani. Serão os 180 minutos mais importantes do ano contra o ABC. Pode ter certeza – garantiu o técnico.

Já existem conversas para uma renovação com o Guarani para buscar outro acesso já no primeiro semestre (para a elite do Paulistão) e, depois, disputar a Série B? Marcelo Chamusca não quer perder o foco da decisão contra o ABC de Geninho:

– Não quero conversar sobre isso por enquanto. É focar nos 180 minutos e tentar se credenciar para uma final, para fazer história. Meu contrato vai até o final da Série C e, no fim de tudo, a gente pensa em 2017. E será difícil. O Geninho (técnico do ABC) é experiente, sabe armar times, sabe subir times.

Começa, neste domingo, mais um desafio para o Bugre de Marcelo Chamusca.
