Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Dean Windass believes Jesse Lingard has been the signing of the season.

Lingard has been in scintillating form under David Moyes, registering three goals and two assists in just five appearances for West Ham United.

The 28-year-old has found a new lease of life under Moyes and is enjoying some of the best form of his career after failing to make a league appearance for Manchester United this campaign.

West Ham came close to earning a point against Manchester City on Saturday with Lingard setting up Michail Antonio, before seeing his cross headed wide by Issa Diop in the final minutes of the game.

Moyes has instilled confidence back into the England international, something a lot of people have not seen since the 2018 World Cup and Lingard is thriving being responsible to link the midfield and attack.

The Hammers have enjoyed a spectacular campaign with a serious challenge for the top four on the cards with them currently occupying fourth spot ahead of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Windass was full of praise for both Moyes and Lingard as he exclusively told Football FanCast:

“Signing of the season, well done David Moyes. I think that’s what he needed. Obviously, he had him before when Manchester United manager.

“To start off with two goals, every centre forward in the country will tell you, when you go to a new club and score two goals supporters there or not, people go wow.

“David Moyes will be sat at home with his wife having a coffee saying, ‘not a bad signing that’.”

West Ham face Man United, Leicester City and Chelsea in their next seven fixtures which could define who claims a spot in the Champions League next season.

Moyes has achieved above many people’s expectations considering the Hammers were battling against the drop last season and a lot fo that is down to smart recruitment which includes a shrewd acquisition of forgotten man Lingard.

والعائق لاستكمال التوقيع هو راتب دي ليخت العالي بما لا يقل عن 8 ملايين يورو صافي في الموسم، بالإضافة إلى متغيرات تصل إلى 4 ملايين، ولكن علاقة مينو رايولا مع خوان لابورتا رئيس برشلونة، يمكن أن تسهل المفاوضات.

وقع دي ليخت ليوفنتوس مقابل 75 مليون يورو بالإضافة إلى 10.5 مليون يورو في المتغيرات، وهناك شرط جزائي بقيمى 120 مليون يورو في الصيف المقبل سيصل إلى 140 مليون يورو.

وأوضح التقرير أن البند يمكن أن يخفض من 120 مليون يورو إلى 75 مليون يورو إذا كان برشلونة هو الوجهة لدي ليخت.

وكان دي ليخت محل اهتمام لبرشلونة بالفعل قبل انضمامه إلى يوفنتوس، وحاول حتى اللحظة الأخيرة ضمه مع وفرينكي دي يونج، لكن نظرًا لعدم قدرته على حسم الصفقتين، فقد اختاروا لاعب خط الوسط فقط.

وجاء هدف أبو حماد بعد عرضية من الجهة اليمنى حولها محمد لطفي برأسه إلى داخل الشباك.

وكاد شادي حسين أن يسجل هدفًا رائعًا في الشوط الثاني، بعد تمريرة بينية من باسم مرسي، سددها شادي من لمسة واحدة على الطائر، لكنها اصطدمت بالعارضة وسقطت قبل خط المرمى.

جدير بالذكر أن سيراميكا كليوباترا سيواجه نظيره فاركو في الجولة الأولى من بطولة كأس الرابطة.

Southampton are reportedly interested in signing goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco from Deportivo Alaves this summer and, if he were to join, he could usurp both Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster and become first choice under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

According to reports from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, Leeds United and Southampton are keen on signing the 28-year-old shot-stopper this summer, with both reportedly willing to pay the €10m (£8.6m) that Alaves would demand for their number one.

The former Real Madrid youngster has been a mainstay in Alaves’ side for the past six years since joining on a free transfer from Los Blancos, making 207 appearances, in which he has conceded 257 goals and kept 67 clean sheets.

The football scouting website FBref rates Pacheco highly when it comes to passing, as he scores 95/100 for his passes over 40 yards completed. In the same statistic, McCarthy scores a measly 2/100.

It seems as if the Spanish ‘keeper also has the advantage when it comes to saving shots, as he scores 98/100 for the expected goals per shot he faces, meaning he concedes far less than expected, whereas McCarthy scores 82/100 in this statistic.

It has been suggested that McCarthy has had the edge over Forster for much of the season because of his ability with the ball at his feet, but it seems clear that Pacheco would be an upgrade from this perspective, with WhoScored also suggesting that his main strength as a goalkeeper is his long passing.

Forster has been between the sticks for recent games against Everton and Sheffield United and, whilst he boasts an impressive clean sheet record on his rare appearances this season, it seems clear that Hasenhuttl sees him as second choice behind McCarthy.

The former Celtic loanee is also 32 and McCarthy is 31, and whilst that isn’t particularly old for a goalkeeper, Pacheco is 28 and therefore could be a fixture in this Southampton team for the next few years he were to join.

Considering Alaves currently sit 19th in La Liga, it seems likely that if Southampton were to come knocking in the summer following Alaves’ possible relegation from the Spanish top flight, then Pacheco could be easily convinced by a move to the south coast of England.

Therefore, Martin Semmens should definitely try and bring him to the Premier League, as the statistics seem to suggest that he would fit in well in Hasenhuttl’s side and could be an upgrade on both McCarthy and Forster.

O meia Shaylon e o atacante Geovane são outras esperanças, mas o clube considera que ainda são novos e podem render mais à base. E há ainda David Neres, destaque do sub-20 com Jardine em 2015, e que voltou a jogar no último domingo depois de seis meses parado devido a uma cirurgia no ombro esquerdo.

-É muito bom ver que os jogadores da base estão tendo oportunidades no time de cima. Estou trabalhando forte aqui nos treinos e jogos que venho fazendo para quando a chance aparecer novamente, eu estar preparado para mostrar o melhor futebol que tenho – disse Caíque, titular do sub-20 do São Paulo na disputa da Copa Paulista.

According to a report by Calciomercato, as also shared and translated by Sport Witness, West Ham United and David Moyes have rekindled their interest in Sevilla powerhouse Youssef En-Nesyri – but Serie A giants Juventus have now entered the fray and could provide signing competition.

As well as the Old Lady, ‘several’ Premier League clubs are now keen on En-Nesyri according to the Italian news outlet, coming after manager Moyes confirmed a bid to sign him in January (Claret & Hugh).

Indeed, West Ham were very publicly chasing the 6 foot 3 powerhouse and journalist David Ornstein of the Athletic revealed exactly why a move fell through for En-Nesyri.

He explained that GSB’s formal offer of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons (£21.4m plus £4.2m) was not enough to convince Sevilla over a sale, but Calciomercato provide the latest and reveal that Moyes and West Ham still hold an interest and could return in the summer.

However, as Juventus now harbour intrigue, as well as ‘several’ Premier League sides, West Ham may now face a battle to sign En-Nesyri as the club continue to eye potential replacements for Sebastien Haller.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has made no secret of the player’s quality, calling him ‘excellent’ in an interview with Premier Sports, and that theory is supported by his noteworthy 20 goals in all competitions over 2020/2021 (Transfermarkt).

Time will tell whether the Irons will be able to snap up En-Nesyri after failed attempts in January, but it will certainly be an interesting development to watch at the end of the season.

وذكرت تقارير صحفية في الفترة الأخيرة أن دين هندرسون قد يغادر مانشستر يونايتد بحثًا عن فرص لعب منتظم.

وغاب دين هندرسون عن مباراة الأمس بين مانشستر يونايتد وأستون فيلا في كأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، وهو ما ضاعف حدة التكهنات حول مستقبل الحارس.

وقال رانجنيك لشبكة “talksport” الإنجليزية أن دين هندرسون طلب قبل أسبوعين مغادرة مانشستر يونايتد، وهو الأمر الذي رفضه المدرب الألماني.

وعندما سُئل عما إذا كان هذا الموقف قد تغير في الوقت الحالي، ليرد رانجنيك باقتضاب “لا”.

أما عن سبب غياب دين هندرسون عن مباراة الأمس أمام أستون فيلا، فكان تفسير رانجنيك هو شعور الحارس بالمرض.

When Southampton briefly went top of the Premier League in November following a 2-0 win over Newcastle United, few would have predicted that the Saints would have found themselves embroiled in a relegation battle just a few months later.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side started the season in impressive form, with Che Adams and Danny Ings forming a superb partnership up front, whilst James Ward-Prowse and Oriol Romeu were excelling in midfield.

The defence looked strong too, with Jannik Vestergaard in particular in sensational form, and for a few weeks, it genuinely looked like the South Coast club could challenge for a European spot this season, despite struggling so much in the first half of the previous campaign.

However, injury problems and poor form saw Hasenhuttl’s side slowly drop down the table, with the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Ings, Vestergaard and Romeu all missing large periods.

The Saints are currently on a woeful run of form that has seen them pick up just four points from a possible 36 in the Premier League, with the recent home defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion leaving them in real danger of relegation this season, as they are currently just seven points ahead of 18th-placed Fulham.

With the international break giving the Saints two weeks off before their next Premier League fixture, Football FanCast predicts the final table and how Southampton will do in their remaining games…

Southampton currently sit on 33 points after 29 games, with nine wins, six draws and 14 defeats to their name.

When predicting the outcome of every game between now and the end of the season, our verdict was that they will pick up three more top-flight wins before the end of the season, along with two draws and four defeats, which is more than enough to see them comfortably stay up, as shown in the graphic above.

Hasenhuttl’s side have some vital fixtures coming up against the likes of Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace, and if they can produce the same sort of performance as they did in the FA Cup at the weekend, then there’s no reason why they can’t finish the season strongly.
