يرى الدنماركي مايكل لاودروب، نجم يوفنتوس السابق، أن مباراة الكلاسيكو بين ريال مدريد وبرشلونة، لن تفقد قيمتها، على الرغم من غياب الثنائي كريستيانو رونالدو وليونيل ميسي.

ويواجه ريال مدريد نظيره برشلونة، غدًا الأحد على ملعب “كامب نو” في تمام الساعة الرابعة والربع بتوقيت القاهرة، بالجولة العاشرة من الدوري الإسباني.

وستكون مباراة الكلاسيكو هذا الأحد، ولأول مرة منذ 2007، لن تشهد تواجد رونالدو أو ميسي، وعلى الرغم من ذلك، ألا أن لاودروب والذي سبق له اللعب لريال مدريد وبرشلونة يرى أن الكلاسيكو يظل مباراة فريدة ومميزة.

وقال لاودروب في تصريحات نقلتها شبكة “البرنابيو ديجتال” الإسبانية: “الكلاسيكو يظل دائمًا مباراة خاصة وفريدة من نوعها، والصعب توقع الفائز بهذه المباراة”.

وأضاف: “ريال مدريد وبرشلونة يمران بمشاكل، ولكنهما حققا انتصارات في دوري أبطال أوروبا الأسبوع الماضي، بالفعل هم ليسوا في أفضل حالاتهم، لكنهم موجودون”.

وواصل: “في الحقيقة من حيث كرة القدم لا يمكن مقارنة مباراة الغد بالكلاسيكو في السنوات العشر الماضية”.

وتابع: “أنا أعرف كارلو أنشيلوتي جيدًا، لقد لعبت ضده عندما كان في ميلان، وهو كان من طراز رفيع كما هو الحال الآن كمدرب، لديه هدوء وشخصية، إنه الشخص الذي يمنحك الهدوء والطموح الذي أنت تكون بحاجة إليه”.

وعن رأيه في أداء كريم بنزيما خاصًة بعد رحيل كريستيانو رونالدو: “في البداية كان هُناك دائمًا انتقادات حول بنزيما لأنه لم يسجل الكثير من الأهداف”.

وأكمل: “ولكن بنزيما كان دائمًا مُهمًا لجميع زملائه في ريال مدريد، ومُنذ رحيل كريستيانو رونالدو تحمل هذه المسؤولية، الآن هو أحد أفضل المهاجمين في أوروبا إلى جانب ليفاندوفسكي”. 

وأنهى تصريحاته قائلًا: “علينا ألا ننسى أن العديد من الأهداف لـ رونالدو في ريال مدريد كانت بسبب بنزيما، وأعتقد أن الأمر استغرق وقتًا طويلاً للتعرف على الأهمية التي يتمتع بها في ريال مدريد”.

Norwich City are ‘confident’ of keeping hold of Todd Cantwell, who has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

English football’s domestic transfer window closes on 16 October and links of a move for Cantwell to Elland Road continue to be reported by Football Insider.

The young midfield talent is currently playing for Norwich City in the Championship, having been part of the Canaries side that suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.

Despite the disappointment suffered by the youngster, he managed to impress throughout the 2019/20 campaign with six goals and two assists in his 37 top-flight appearances.

Norwich hoping to fend off Leeds’ interest in Todd Cantwell

With few days remaining in the current window, Football Insider claimed that Norwich are keen to fend off any interest after receiving two bids from Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the past month.

The report added that a recruitment source claimed that Norwich fully expect the attacking midfielder to be at the club beyond the 16 October domestic transfer deadline.

Cantwell, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, has two years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road after renewing terms in July 2019 and is said be keen on a move to Elland Road.

Spending just under £100m thus far in the transfer window, Argentine tactician Bielsa is seemingly desperate to bring in a new and young midfielder to Leeds, having missed out on Michael Cuisance last week.

Cantwell, who is claimed to be dreaming of a move to Leeds, would seemingly improve his game further if he were to move to Yorkshire, potentially learning from the likes of Pablo Hernandez over the coming months.

A move for the young English midfielder would seemingly be a real coup for Bielsa, but Norwich certainly aren’t going to let him depart too easily.

Glasgow Rangers begin their group stage campaign with a trip to Belgium to face Standard Liege in the Europa League on Thursday. However, Steven Gerrard’s side could come up against a “real danger”, according to Thomas Buffel.

What’s the word?

The former Belgian international has warned Rangers that Moroccan magician Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez poses a real threat to their chances on Thursday night, as quoted by The Daily Record.

He said: “Standard Liege’s star player is undoubtedly Carcela.

“If they can get him to produce his best on Thursday then he will be a real danger to Rangers.

“Carcela is very tricky, very skilful on the ball and has a great shot.

“He can conjure up real magic and amazing moments as you will see if you watch a goal he scored against Ajax in a Champions League qualifier two years ago.”

But Buffel, who won the Scottish Premiership title during his time at the Ibrox outfit, has backed the Gers to get the job done, although he insists it won’t be an easy task.

Could give Gerrard problems

After beating Celtic in the first Old Firm derby of the season last weekend, Gerrard’s side should be full of confidence heading into the fixture, but they ought to be wary of the threat posed by the former Morocco international.

The 31-year-old made six appearances in the Europa League last season, whilst he averaged 1.5 shots and 2.3 dribbles per game, via WhoScored, which shows that he is a strong dribbler who is more than capable of running at the back line. By comparison, even Ianis Hagi could only manage 1.3 shots and 1.3 dribbles per game in the same competition last term, as per WhoScored.

Although Carcela hasn’t scored or supplied a single goal and assist this season, he contributed to ten goals in the league last term, via Transfermarkt. Moreover, he finished with a tally of a goal and two assists to his name in the Europa League the season beforehand.

Granted, he has only played seven games this season, but he featured in their most recent fixture on the right wing against Club Brugge, which ended in a 1-1 draw between the two sides. Brugge face Zenit St Petersburg in the group stages of the Champions League tonight.

If Philippe Montanier decides to unleash the attacking midfielder at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne, he could cause Gerrard’s side some problems, in particular on the right flank, as James Tavernier does have a tendency to roam up and down the wing.

However, it’s worth bearing in mind that the back four consisting of Borna Barisic, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Tavernier barely faced a shot all game against Celtic, let alone a shot on target, as per SofaScore. So, they should be more than ready for the task that lies ahead.

Former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Deco has said that Leeds United’s summer signing Raphinha is one of a kind.

The Brazilian attacker arrived at Elland Road as a European deadline day signing, costing the Premier League club £16.72m from Ligue 1 side Rennes.

A move which took Leeds’ summer spending close to the £100m mark, it saw the 22-year-old added to the Whites’ attacking options, which include the likes of Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and emerging young talent Ian Poveda.

Having only played 15 minutes since his arrival in Yorkshire, Raphinha is already gaining praise from a number of key football men with two-time Champions League winner Deco now giving his thoughts on the winger’s potential.

What has Deco said about Raphinha?

“Raphinha is a warrior boy, with a difficult history, he won everything on the wrist and still wins, because he still has a long career ahead of him,” the ex-Portugal midfielder told UOL.

“It is not easy for a player to transfer practically four times in an interval of two years, all because of his quality. Although we have many extremes in Brazilian football, I do not believe that there is another southpaw with his characteristics.”

Prior to his Leeds move, Raphinha had moved from his native Brazil and had no fewer than three different clubs including Vitoria Guimaraes, Sporting Lisbon and Rennes.

Will Raphinha make an impact at Leeds?

Under the management and guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, the 23-year-old arguably has the best chance to make an impact in English football and Europe.

Leeds have started the Premier League season in fine form, and whilst Jack Harrison and Helder Costa continue to hold down the wide positions, chances are expected to come to allow Raphinha to potentially make an impact.

For now, the youngster has to be patient, but Deco’s comments hint at the scale of his potential.

Terceiro reforço do Internacional para 2016, Paulo Cezar Magalhães apresentou-se oficialmente ao clube nesta segunda-feira. No Beira-Rio, o lateral-direito de 26 anos comentou suas principais características em campo.

– Defender e meu forte. Sou bom no jogo aéreo. Gosto muito de ir para cima, depois de defender. Quero fazer minha própria história e conquistar títulos – comentou.

Nascido em Porto Alegre, Magalhães tem nacionalidade chilena, país de sua mãe e onde construiu toda sua carreira no futebol. Além da Universidad de Chile, clube que defendia desde 2001, Magalháes já atuou por Deportes Antofagasta, Cobreloa e Colo-Colo. O atleta também já jogou pela Seleção do Chile.

De acordo com Magalhães, um dos motivos que levou ao acerto com o Internacional foram as boas referências passadas por Charles Aránguiz, volante chileno que jogou no Colorado em 2015 e foi companheiro de Magalhães na La U.

– Sou muito amigo do Aránguiz, ele falou muito bem do clube, da torcida. Foi por isso que decidir vir para o Inter. Morei com ele no Chile. Contou das pessoas do clube, da torcida, e isso me motivou muito. Tive oferta da Argentina, mas quis jogar no Inter.
